Do you have new or forthcoming research that you would like to share with policymakers, journalists, educators, or other non-academic audiences? The Population Reference Bureau (PRB)  and its Center for Public Information on Population Research, and in collaboration with the Association of Population Centers (APC), is working to improve the dissemination of population and reproductive health findings. If you have peer-reviewed research on population dynamics, population health, or reproductive health that you would like to share with a broader audience in an easily digestible format, PRB staff can:

  • Edit and publish a 1,000-word brief that you’ve written. Here are PRB’s Guidelines for Writing a Research Brief.
  • Help you write a brief based on your key findings and assist in editing and publishing the brief.
  • Help you promote your research or your university’s press release by sharing on social media, developing a social media campaign, and/or providing guidance on how to pitch a research-oriented story to journalists.

The purpose of these activities is to help you amplify your research results. Many of PRB’s briefs have received thousands of page views and have been circulated widely on social media. To get promising articles (published or forthcoming) in the queue, email Mark Mather (mmather@prb.org). (Researchers may also submit items using an online form, but email is fastest and simplest.) See recent research briefs here.

Call for New Scientific Panels. The IUSSP Council will hold its first meeting in April and invites IUSSP members to submit proposals for new Scientific Panels. These member-driven Panels play a central role in shaping IUSSP’s research and training activities. The Council is particularly interested in supporting new Panels that address issues of high scientific and/or policy relevance. Proposals for new Panels should focus on topics of clear substantive interest and/or innovative methodologies or new types of data. Proposals may also include significant training components. Members considering submitting a proposal are encouraged to consult the Guidelines for IUSSP Panels and to review the list of current and past Panels available on the IUSSP website. While some of the current Panels may request a short extension of their mandate or submit a new proposal, others have now completed their planned activities.

We look forward to receiving your proposals. To propose a new Scientific Panel, please log in as an IUSSP member and submit your proposal online at: http://www.iussp.org/en/proposals-new-iussp-panels

NTA AFRICA CONFERENCE 4th edition, “Generational Economy and Care Economics at the Heart of Public Policies in Africa” Mbour, Senegal, 28-30 July 2026.

Deadline for submissions: 15 April 2026

The Conference on Population and Development in Africa is a flagship biennial conference of the National Transfer Accounts Network (NTA-Africa). The global National Transfer Accounts Network (NTA Network) is a network of researchers working on incorporating population age structure into the estimation of economic progress. The NTA methodology has been recognized as an effective tool for estimating both the first and second demographic dividends. It focuses on relevant policies for governments worldwide that can lead them to development. By providing a framework for understanding the impact of changing population age structures on national economies, generational economics through national transfer accounts allows for the full integration of population dynamics into sustainable development planning, which is crucial for understanding the role of harnessing demographic dividends in achieving the 2030 Agenda.

For more information on the conference here.  See here for abstract submission guidelines.

Submissions can be made in English or in French.
