Registration is now open for our Spring Symposium on Population Research: New Findings, New Directions. Join us for this in person, one-day symposium hosted by the Berkeley Population Center (BPC) and the Center on the Economics and Demography of Aging (CEDA). This symposium is an opportunity for the UC Berkeley population sciences community to share and discuss new findings, innovative ideas, and future directions of their research.

FUNDING

Berkeley launches new seed fund program to help faculty advance research. The Research Opportunity Program offers grants between $5,000 and $100,000 to faculty across all disciplines to help secure the next chapter of their work.  The application deadline is April 10. Award funds can be used for graduate student and postdoctoral research support, supplies and equipment, travel costs, and other research-related expenses. 

CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS

APPAM 48th Annual Fall Research Conference. Submissions are now open for the APPAM 48th Annual Fall Research Conference, themed “Fifty States, Fifty Systems: State Policy Variations and Impacts.” The conference will take place November 5–7, 2026 at the Boston Marriott Copley Place in Boston. All conference sessions will be organized by primary policy area, and proposals are invited for the #2026APPAM meeting. Learn more.
