23rd International Sustainable Development Research Society Conference (ISDRS) 2017 Bogotá  Abstracts submission deadline: January 31, 2017. We want to kindly remind you that the deadline to submit abstracts to the International Sustainable Development Research Society Conference (ISDRS 2017 Bogotá, Colombia) is January 31, 2017.  You can submit your current research in any of the topics that will be addressed in the Conference (seethemes and tracks). Remember that the general theme of the conference is: inclusive sustainability, and that this is the very first time that the Conference will take place in Latin America.  The ISDRS Conference is an ideal place to receive feedback and look for publishing options for your research.  Please circulate this invitation among your social and academic networks.  See: Themes and tracks See: Promotional video All info in:www.isdrsconference.org 

CEDA: A reminder that the deadline for submitting proposals to pilot new research ideas is fast approaching — February 6th. The proposal is simple, turnaround is fast, and grants are normally in the $20,000 to $30,000 range. See the attached for more information.

NIH: Francis Collins has been asked by the Trump administration to stay on as Director of NIH. 
NIH: The Human Subjects Common Rule has been under revision for some time, and they have finally released the revised guidelines. FUNDING
Robert Wood Johnson Foundation: Intergenerational Mobility in the United States
RSF seeks applications for research projects that deepen our understanding of intergenerational mobility by using data from the Equality of Opportunity Project. We encourage proposals that provide new analyses of the mechanisms explaining geographic variation in economic mobility or the impacts of policies on economic mobility. The deadline for applications is March 1, 2017.

PIMSA is now accepting Letters of Intent (LOIs) for Research Awards and grants for graduate students related to migration and health topics. Please view the full announcement for application details and timelines. This cycle will be open to researchers and graduate students from any of the University of California campuses, University of Arizona, University of Texas at El Paso, and the University of Houston, working in collaboration with researchers from the National Council for Science and Technology (CONACYT for its Spanish acronym) accredited institutions in all Mexican states and Universidad National Autonoma de Mexico (UNAM), or from Mexico’s Secretariat of Health research institutions. PIMSA is administered jointly by theHealth Initiative of the Americas (HIA) and the California Program on Access to Care (CPAC) under the auspices of the University of California, BerkeleySchool of Public Health.

SUMMER INSTITUTES
RSF Social Science Summer Institute for Journalists
RSF will hold its first Social Science Summer Institute for Journalists from July 12–July 14, 2017. The workshop, organized by Nicholas Lemann and Tali Woodward (Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism), will be held at the foundation. The institute will teach journalists how to locate the best available social science research on their topics quickly, how to identify and interact fruitfully with leading experts, and how to read academic publications for their journalistic relevance, among other topics. Applications will be accepted until March 31, 2017. Read more about the program and submit an application.
RSF Summer Institute in Social Science Genomics
From June 11–June 23, 2017, RSF will sponsor the second Summer Institute in Social Science Genomics, organized by Daniel Benjamin (University of Southern California) and David Cesarini (New York University), to be held at the Pepper Tree Inn in Santa Barbara, California. This institute will introduce graduate students, postdoctoral fellows and early career faculty in economics, sociology, psychology, statistics, genetics, and other disciplines to the methods and analysis of genomic data in social science research. Applications will be accepted until February 13, 2017. Read more about the program and submit an application.
RSF Summer Institute in Computational Social Science
From June 18–July 1, 2017, RSF will sponsor its first Summer Institute in Computational Social Science, organized by Christopher Bail (Duke University) and Matthew Salganik (Princeton University), to be held at Princeton University. The Institute will introduce graduate students, postdoctoral fellows and early career faculty in the social sciences and data sciences to computational social science, or the use of digital-age data sources and methods to conduct social research. The institute will address questions about access, privacy, and confidentiality that are raised by the emergence of these new data and methods and introduce participants to a network of scholars with similar interests across disciplines. Applications will be accepted until February 17, 2017. Read more about the program and submit an application.

ANNOUNCEMENTS
NIH and NSF now require all subaward insitutions to have a sponsor-compliant Conflict of Interest (COI) policy in place. Subawards will not be issued to subrecipients without a sponsor-compliant policy.
